Lest anyone forget how much can change throughout MLB's seemingly endless regular season, Juan Soto and the New York Mets would like everyone's attention.

Former player and current analyst on MLB Network, Mark DeRosa, declared on the latest episode of MLB Central on Wednesday that Soto's recent offensive turnaround has made him an MVP candidate.

There is still likely a gap for Soto to close on that front against players such as Shohei Ohtani, Trea Turner and Pete Crow-Armstrong, but that pedestal isn’t out of the question for the Mets
