A huge swath of the U.S. from the Gulf Coast to New England is mired in extra-cold temperatures after a 'bomb cyclone' brought heavy snow.
Other weather sources say there is potential for a foot or more of snow. The Weather Underground's forecast calls for 4 inches of accumulation on Saturday with another 13.5 inches possible on Sunday. The Weather Channel's forecast calls for 8 to 12 inches during the day Sunday, with an additional 3 to 5 inches Sunday night.
