Hurricane Melissa made landfall just after 3 a.m. ET Wednesday in Cuba as a powerful Category 3 hurricane with winds of 120 mph.

Three days after Hurricane Melissa tore through the western half of Jamaica, stories continue to emerge of the widespread suffering left behind in the storm’s wake.

Authorities in Haiti, which was not directly hit but nevertheless suffered days of torrential rains from the slow-moving storm, reported at least 30 deaths and 20 more missing.
