NASCAR took away 50 points from Austin Cindric and fined him $50K for intentionally spinning Ty Dillon in the Cup Series race at Circuit of the Americas.

NASCAR has penalized Austin Cindric 50 points and fined him $50,000 for intentionally spinning Ty Dillon in last weekend’s Cup race at Circuit of the Americas. After Dillon moved Cindric up the track early in the race, Cindric quickly retaliated and hooked Dillon in the right rear, spinning Dillon.

While Alfredo said the contact was unintentional, NASCAR held him for two laps, then fined him $25,000 and docked him 25 driver points later in the week. Granted, it was the last race of the season, but no suspension was handed down and a smaller fine was given as well.
