Gordon Ramsay revealed his recent skin cancer diagnosis on social media. On Aug. 30, the “Hell’s Kitchen” host announced that he had been diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma and had the spot removed.

Basal Cell Carcinoma is usually found in parts of the skin that’s typically exposed to the sun, such as your head and neck.

Surgery is usually the main treatment for basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma as well as most types of melanoma. Other times, surgery is used together with other treatment types.
