The Lions were led by a cast of many on defense including cornerback Amik Robertson, who held star Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson to three catches for 54 yards on the evening. The Lions harassed quarterback Sam Darnold into 18-for-41 passing for 166 yards and no touchdowns as they took control late.

Amik Robertson was ready to give up his dreams as a freshman in high school. What followed was a series of events eventually landing him in Detroit.
