The Giants suffered one of the worst collapses in NFL history against the Broncos in Week 7. New York blew second-half leads of 19-0 and 26-8, and gave up 33 points in the fourth quarter. Jaxson Dart was devastated. Bo Nix was elated. Brian Daboll was furious.
But then Denver fell apart on New York's final possession. The Broncos were first hit with a brutal roughing the passer penalty by John Franklin-Myers on a fourth down, which kept the drive alive. Then a few plays later, Dart took a deep shot to Beaux Collins — who picked up a pass interference call.
It took a circus catch off a deflection by Troy Franklin in the back of the end zone for the Broncos to cut their early fourth-quarter deficit to 19-8. It seemed that wouldn’t matter when the Giants leveled it out with their own tipped-pass lucky touchdown — a 41-yarder by Johnson.
