The Taj Mahal in Agra received a bomb threat via email today, prompting the tourism department to register a case at Tajganj police station, according to ACP Taj Security Syed Areeb Ahmed.

The iconic Taj Mahal in Agra was threatened with a bomb on Tuesday. The email was received by the regional office of Uttar Pradesh Tourism. Confirming the threat, ACP Taj Security Syed Areeb Ahmed said,

An email received by airport officials reportedly stated that a bomb was planted in a bathroom of the airport.

Aviation security regulator Bureau of Civil Aviation Security has mandated robust protocols for handling such threats, the report said.
