Despite renewed calls to end the twice-yearly clock changes, most Americans will “fall back” an hour this weekend as daylight saving time comes to a close.

The U.S. Senate briefly took up a long-stalled effort on Wednesday to make daylight saving time permanent and end the twice-yearly practice of switching clocks, but again failed to reach consensus.
