Southern Miss football hired Marshall's Charles Huff as its new coach on Sunday. Huff has been the Marshall coach for the last four seasons. He replaces Will Hall, who was fired by the Golden Eagles on Oct. 20 midway through his fourth season.

Huff, in his fourth year as the Marshall head coach, led the Thundering Herd to a 10-3 record and a 31-3 championship victory over Louisiana this past Saturday night.
