SHANGHAI, China — A giant 26-meter (85-foot) Lego figure named Dada welcomed visitors to the new Legoland resort in Shanghai. The resort, which opened Saturday, is the first in China. It is one of 11 parks across the world and was built with 85 million Lego bricks.

China's first Legoland opened in Shanghai on Saturday, featuring eight areas themed on such characters as the Monkey King from the classic Chinese novel "Journey to the West" as well as an expansive replica of the local cityscape made of Lego bricks.

Legoland Shanghai Resort, China's first Legoland resort and the world's largest of its kind, officially opened to public on Saturday in Shanghai, featuring eight immersive themed areas with over 75 interactive rides, shows, and attractions.
