The fire started around 1:17 p.m. in the vicinity of 14322 Pomerado Road, and by 1:45 p.m., it was 2 acres large.

Fire crews are working to douse a 2-acre brush fire in Poway that broke out just after 1 p.m. Monday near a hiking trail by the intersection of Ted Williams Pkwy and Pomerado Road. Authorities say the brush fire is being driven by the high winds and has the potential to grow.
