A protester who scaled London's Big Ben waving a Palestinian flag was brought down safely after 16 hours. Streets were closed and several emergency vehicles lined up outside of the building as people watched from below.

After 16 hours spent on a ledge of Big Ben in London, a man with a Palestinian flag was finally persuaded to come down. The barefoot man spent most of the day on a ledge several metres up the Elizabeth Tower at Westminster Palace in central London, holding a Palestinian flag and wrapping a Palestinian headscarf around the tower’s decorative stone.
