Auston Matthews scored his first goal since returning from injury as the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 4-1 on Monday night.

Lukas Reichel gave them a little bit of life at 3:26 of the third period. That life only lasted for 21 seconds though as Fraser Minten scored on the next shift to make it 3-1 Leafs. Matthew Knies threw one into the empty net at the end of the game and the Leafs won 4-1.

The Chicago Blackhawks couldn't overcome a superior opponent & a red-hot goalie. They lost 4-1 to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Dec. 2, 2024.
