But that rumor has been put to bed. According to Adam Schupak of Golfweek, Finau withdrew from the Hero World Challenge because he had surgery on Oct. 15. The operation repaired a torn meniscus and cleaned up cartilage. “From what my doctor told me, it was a pretty standard clean-up,” Finau told Golfweek.

In the wake of the six-time PGA Tour winner withdrawing from this week’s Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas, rumors are swirling Finau could be defecting to the Saudi-backed league that his good friend, Jon Rahm, joined last year on a deal worth a reported $350 million.
