A major lake-effect storm has buried parts of Northeast Ohio under several feet of snow. Here's the latest on the winter weather and this week's forecast.

Lake effect snow will mainly occur east of Cleveland through the day. We do not expect heavy snow accumulation. The current forecast is for locally over 2 inches additional in some of the more persistent bands.

A lake effect snow warning has been extended through Tuesday. It’s for Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga and Lake counties.

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Lake effect snow bands will again determine what areas of Northeast Ohio will see the most significant snowfalls on Tuesday. The National Weather Service’s forecast calls for greatest snowfall totals by tomorrow evening to fall east of Cleveland.

A LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING continues for Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, and Lake Co. until 7 a.m. Tuesday. Another 6 to 18″ of snow will be possible through Tuesday morning locally.

The weather forecast this week for the Canton area predicts potentially freezing temperatures in the area and chances of snow throughout the week. Temperatures are not expected to break the 40s. The Northeast Ohio region is continuing to feel the impact of lake effect snow that hit Thanksgiving travel over the weekend.
