Roughly 35 Union Pacific train cars derailed about 2 p.m. Tuesday, two miles east of the town of Gordon, Texas, Union Pacific officials said in a statement to WFAA-TV. The derailment occurred at the Coalville Road Bridge, according to a news release that the Emergency Services District posted to Facebook.

Emergency crews are responding to a train derailment east of Gordon in Palo Pinto Tuesday afternoon. According to officials, the derailment happened at about 1:45 p.m. over a railroad bridge on Coalville Road north of State 183. Officials said 35 train cars are involved and may be carrying potentially hazardous materials.
