Ghana has announced a new visa-free policy for African countries, allowing all African passport holders to visit without a visa starting January 2025.

All African passport holders are now able to visit Ghana without needing a visa, outgoing President Nana Akufo-Addo has said.

Figures in 2023 show that 28% of all intra-Africa travel by Africans was visa-free, a rise from 27% in 2022 and 20% in 2016.
