U.S. Vice President JD Vance on Tuesday called progress in Gaza's fragile ceasefire better than anticipated but acknowledged during an Israel visit the challenges that remain, from disarming Hamas to rebuilding a land devastated by two years of war.
Special envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump's son-in-law and businessman Jared Kushner arrived in Israel on Monday morning to bolster the ceasefire agreement and to continue implementation of the second phase of Trump's 20-point Gaza plan.
Vice President JD Vance said that he's confident in "durable" peace amid the ceasefire, warning Hamas will be "obliterated" if it doesn't cooperate.
