Popular video game "Football Manager" announced on Friday that its delayed 2025 edition has been cancelled as the "overarching player experience and interface is not where we need it to be."

Sega and Sports Interactive have canceled Football Manager 25 across all platforms after what has been a difficult development. It’s the first time the long-running sports sim series has skipped a year entirely since it began in 2004.

There's been quite a lot of gloomy speculation about a potential video game crash coming. After heavy layoffs over the past two years, the cancellation of big budget titles continues to add fuel to the idea that the numbers aren't adding up.
