3 hospitalized with significant burn injuries in Woodland Hills high-rise fire
LOS ANGELES - Three people were taken to the hospital with serious injuries after an alleged electrical fire at a high-rise building in Woodland Hills, officials said. Los Angeles City firefighters were called to a 17-story building in the 6300 block of N. Canoga Avenue, near W. Trillum Drive, just before 7:35 a.m.
A fire on a container ship docked at the Port of Los Angeles was nearly contained Saturday afternoon, though authorities were still assessing whether enough hazardous material burned to cause significant contamination.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and transported the person, later determined to be a 17-year-old juvenile, to a local area hospital. The juvenile succumbed to the injuries sustained and was subsequently pronounced deceased by hospital staff.
