Six players from Champions League winners Real Madrid and four from Manchester City feature in this year’s FIFPRO World 11 announced on Monday by the global players' association, with Lionel Messi absent for the first time in almost 20 years.

A total of 21,266 FIFPRO members submitted their choices for the team with the top players in each position named in the World 11. This year’s team features five players from Premier League champions Manchester City and two from the Spanish team that lifted the European Championship over the summer.
