Playing hours after his father died, the Winnipeg forward scored a goal, but was in the penalty box when Dallas ended Western Conference playoff series with an OT win.

Just hours after his father unexpectedly passed away, Mark Scheifele stepped out onto the ice to play for the Winnipeg Jets in their must-win Game 6 of their second-round playoff series against the Dallas Stars.

Stars head coach Pete DeBoer called Scheifele a “courageous young man” after he played following his father’s death.
