Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa was illuminated with a spectacular display marking Diwali, the Indian Festival of Lights, on Monday night. The world's tallest tower showcased bilingual messages across its façade, wishing UAE residents and visitors a joyous festival in both English and Hindi.
Thousands of people gathered in Downtown Dubai to witness the grand light and laser show, which was accompanied by traditional Indian music and a heartfelt message that read, "Festival of lights brings home, joy, harmony and prosperity, wishing you happy Diwali".
Day three is Diwali itself, the main day of the festival, when people join their families in blessing. Day four is Govardhan Puja, when gifts and sweets are exchanged among family and friends celebrate with large quantities of food. Day five is Bhai Dooj, a day dedicated to the bond between brothers and sisters.
