Scottie Scheffler’s run at the US Open looked shaky early, but once again, the world number one rallied and even briefly had a shot on Sunday. Scheffler was four over par after 36 holes at Oakmont, flirting with the cut in a way we haven’t seen at a major since the 2022 PGA Championship.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler refused to blame the poor weather at the U.S. Open after he shot a four-over par 74 to end his hopes of winning a second major of the year.

Scottie Scheffler has been on a winning spree since his last four appearances. He won back-to-back at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson and the PGA Championship.

“Overall definitely not out of the tournament. Today was I think with the way I was hitting it, was easily a day I could have been going home and battled pretty hard to stay in there,” Scheffler said. “I’m 4 over. We’ll see what the lead is after today, but around this golf course I don’t think by any means I’m out of the tournament.”
