I know I talk a lot about how my spike hawk is my most used tomahawk - and it's true. But I'm also a bit terrified of the spike - at least when I'm carrying it or using the blade side.
Estwing actually makes a "Tomahawk" - it looks pretty good and the weight seems reasonable. I'm thinking of buying one... has anyone here purchased or tested one yet? I've seen some reviews on them and I've handled them in the store. They seem to have a good reputation and, like all things Estwing, seem to be very well made.
Vintage LaGana Tactical Tomahawk ("VTAC") This LaGana Tactical Tomahawk has served the United States in every single conflict since the Vietnam War. The "VTAC" has a drop forged 1060 steel (RC 52-54) blade. The handle is hickory and coated black. Has some scratches and minor wear, otherwise good condition. Comes with original brown...

Hello there! I'm wondering if anyone here has ever made a tomahawk from a drywall hatchet/hammer? Obviously it wouldn't be able to have a friction fit, easily replaceable handle, and the size would be limited.
I've got my first tomahawk on order, a Cold Steel Trailhawk. I already plan to strip the paint, and give it a good patina, as well as customizing the handle to my liking. Still not sold on a tomahawk becoming a mainstay in my kit, as I carry small hatchets, a Collins boys axe, or a 8" Kukri for...
